Associate Director, Market Access Data Specialist
Associate Director, Market Access Data Specialist – Commercial Data Solutions
The Associate Director, Market Access Data Specialist is a member of Bayer’s growing Commercial Data Solutions team supporting US Market Access team within commercial organization. Through rigorous analysis of rich commercial data, he/she will enable leaders within Market Access across the portfolio by closely collaborating with Insights & Analytics, Forecasting, Finance and Patient Services teams to make informed business decisions and help quantify value through data. The Data specialist collaborates with the cross functional teams to uncover data opportunities and to facilitate strategic decision-making.
The position has the primary ownership of data and has the responsibility of end-to-end data management for all the business-critical data assets of the US Pharma Commercial organization supporting Market Access. The Data Specialist is responsible for working closely with mission teams in developing a data strategy and build data management capabilities, which includes identifying the emerging data sources, manage data quality, and governance to enable data to driven business insights. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Understanding stakeholders’ key objectives, needs, and challenges
- Extracting valuable and actionable insights from datasets; identifying emerging trends
- Designing compelling stories within data that facilitate stakeholder decision-making
- Proactively anticipating stakeholders’ needs
- Continuously looking for ways to measure and demonstrate the business value.
- Ensuring the data integrity is intact and trusted
Key Responsibilities
- Market Access data expertise to understand strategic business priorities, develop overarching data strategy to address key business questions
- Manage associated analytics & reporting to provide competitive advantage and drive Market Access profitability and access optimization
- Assess the current landscape of data practices and build a robust and comprehensive strategy for our data that defines analytics requirements and end-user reporting
- Enable data driven culture with ease of access and usage; establish governance and implement best practices in data management to uphold data integrity
- Facilitate data-driven decision making by ensuring data sources are aligned to business needs, key questions, and are readily available for analysis and reporting
- Perform, with authority as Data Specialist, by managing individuals and matrixed teams focused on operations, including, data ingestion, data quality, data transformation, standardization, data models, analytical layer(s) and visualizations
- Create, standardize, and maintain thorough business rule documentation from both a technical and business lens
- Collaborate with cross functional teams that include Brand Insights, Forecasting, Finance, and Brand teams to understand requirements and direction of the business to chart out data strategy in support of customer centricity, digital transformation and business growth
- Synthesize data and conduct analyses from multiple sources across key commercial functions (sales, syndicated claims, marketing, patient services, HP-PBM invoices) to drive Market Access Insights
- Accountable to drive quality and stability of data for key business KPIs
- Develop processes and SLAs with third party data vendors for timely and accurate delivery of data
- Champion and educate on the appropriate sources and use of data to meet both business objectives and compliance requirements
- Execution of routine analytics, Ad-hoc reporting, and visualization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 7+ years US healthcare/Pharma experience with extensive knowledge in pharma Market Access data and analytics capabilities
- Understanding of logistics & distribution processes and Specialty Pharmacy data
- Hands-on commercial pharma data experience working with SP/SD/Sales data, syndicated claims, access data (e.g., DRG, MMIT), patient service (e.g., Relay Health, BlinkRx, CoverMyMeds, Connective Rx), formulary data etc.
- Experience in Master Data Management, including customer, product master, affiliations, and hierarchy
- Ability to find the story within the data and translate technical concepts into simple yet impactful insights & understandable recommendations
- Expertise in design, build and manage Data quality framework for commercial data assets
- Understanding of commercial data landscape and experience working with data suppliers
- Excellent influencing and networking skills paired with stakeholder management experience in a multi-layered matrix organization and global environment
- Technical skills working in cloud based technology, snowflake, SQL expertise, visualization (e.g., MicroStrategy, Tellius)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to influence others to take action and drive collaborative projects to a successful outcome
