The Associate Financial analyst, under the direction of the Program Director or Department Administrator, is responsible for recording transactions, performing analysis activities, and evaluating trends and drivers within the Department. The position will also be charged with the preparation and some review activities related to the month end close process, as well as support for the annual financial close. The analyst will need to understand complex financial concepts in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile financial data, research discrepancies, and maintain organized documentation to support monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
- Process and track vendor invoices, ensuring timely payment and resolving invoice discrepancies by working with vendors and internal divisions.
- Assist with provider payment activities, including processing ad hoc payments and reimbursements and verifying supporting documentation for accuracy.
- Prepare and process financial transactions, including journal entries and corrections, while maintaining accurate financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of the departmental budgets, monitor the activity and balances of departmental accounts throughout the year, and interpret financial data to inform decision making.
- Provide support and analysis by querying appropriate data, preparing reports, and utilizing independent critical thinking to provide detailed observations and recommendations to senior leadership.
