Summary
The Business Analyst will be instrumental in the development and support of internal BI Solutions. The BA will perform activities related to data and report deliverables, including requirements gathering and analysis, development, testing, and implementation. The Analyst will serve as a liaison between the development team and business users, working closely with stakeholders to capture business needs and translating them to technical specifications. A strong working knowledge of healthcare systems, databases, MS SQL and Excel is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance and production support for existing reports and database objects. Troubleshoot and update existing SQL queries as need.
- Create and manage SQL queries to extract data needed for ad hoc and reoccurring report needs.
- Work directly with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts across multiple departments and levels of leadership to define requirements for new and existing BI objects.
- Translates business requirements into technical specifications for development team.
- Design and create reports based on user requirements in Excel, SSRS or Power BI.
- Create and maintain documentation for reports and processes.
Education and Experience
- Experience with healthcare related data and systems, including knowledge in areas such as billing, front office operations and scheduling.
- Advanced skill level with Excel – including Power Query and Power Pivot.
- Intermediate skill level with SQL – including Aggregations, Case Statements and Subqueries.
- Strong interest in understanding business processes and an aptitude in defining business requirements for BI solutions.
- Working knowledge of report design, development, and deployment with data visualization tools such as Power BI and SSRS.
- Ability to lead and prioritize high volumes of responsibilities autonomously without compromising results.
