Job Summary
Under the general direction of the General Manager, the Business Data Analyst contributes to the Casino’s growth and profitability through support of retrieving, compiling, and summarizing key business data involving financial, marketing, labor, and other property initiatives. The Business Data Analyst is system super user of all technology, systems and applications necessary to provide data integrity and financial and operational project evaluations and will assist with business reporting and project-related analysis.
Essential Job Duties
- Partner with executive leadership to identify informational needs and analyze data identifying trends and patterns to create actionable objectives
- Analyze complicated and complex raw data and convert it into understandable reports or analysis to create actionable information.
- Work with necessary vendors to improve access and integrity of our data in their application(s).
- Develop tools and processes to monitor, validate, and analyze for data accuracy.
- Write and maintain programs to automate data collection and processing.
- Create, develop, and perform standard and ad-hoc queries of business.
- Notify management immediately of any material discrepancies, deviations or variances that need immediate attention.
- Develop all operating performance analysis support required by department leadership.
- Compile and analyze daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and ensure financial and operational information has been recorded accurately for reporting purposes
- Prepare recurring reports by analyzing, interpreting and summarizing financial data.
- Identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings and make recommendations to executive team.
- Communicate effectively with executive management through listening, documentation, and presentations, using visualization tools to share analysis and make recommendations based on that interpretation of data.
- Manage the FP&A report workspaces in collaboration with departments reporting needs and ongoing requests for improved reporting and automation
- Provide advanced analytical and programming support to assess and monitor performance of the property.
