Job Purpose:

The Commercial Real Estate Financial Analyst provides critical financial analysis and modeling to support the Origination team in evaluating and executing prospective loan ventures, helping drive informed investment decisions.

ย Primary Accountabilities:

  • Conducts thorough due diligence on prospective loan ventures by gathering relevant documentation from various sources.
  • Drafts proposals and detailed investment memorandums in collaboration with the Origination team.
  • Develops comprehensive financial models to evaluate investment structures and provide data-driven insights.
  • Performs in-depth market research on due diligence and financial analysis on qualified opportunities.
  • Identifies risks and mitigating factors.
  • Manages, communicates and coordinates with third party professionals.
  • Performs market research for commercial real estate trends, including comparable rents, sales, absorption, and growth metrics, to support investment decisions.
  • Filters and organizes information to help maximize efficiencies.
  • Assesses and communicates risks, recommending mitigation strategies for prospective investments.
  • Coordinates with third-party professionals such as appraisers, legal teams, and consultants to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Analyzes financial models from prospective borrowers.
  • Creates financial models for new business opportunities.
  • Monitors ongoing loans, providing ongoing financial analysis and pro forma updates for key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in real estate, finance, business, economics, or accounting
  • 1 - 4 years of relevant experience in real estate, banking, finance, or accounting, with a focus on real estate investment analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly in Excel and Word; experience with financial modeling software (e.g. Argus) is a plus
  • Solid understanding of real estate markets, investment structures, and financial analysis principles.
