Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking highly qualified individuals with a strong background in business intelligence, data warehousing, data mining, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes, and data reporting to apply for the Business Intelligence Engineer position.
The Business Intelligence Engineer designs and develops data modeling for the data warehouse; monitors the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes; and provides technical support for the systems and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:
- Database programming languages
- Relational database SQL and non-relational database SQL
- Business Intelligence (BI), data lake, and data warehousing concepts and tools
- Components of business intelligence semantic model
- Databases, data queries, data mining, data acquisition, and ETL strategies and tools
- Data analysis and root cause analysis
- Software engineering principles and skills working on Unix/Linux/Windows Operating systems, Version Control, and Office software
- Data platform support in cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, etc.
- Reporting analytics and data visualization tools
- Principles and concepts of data design patterns for organizing data lakehouses such as Medallion Architecture
