Are you excited to drive high-visibility, strategic Analytics solutions to help streamline Amazon's operations? AMZL Strategic Planning-Analytics Automation is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE), to lead the business analytics & automation in partnership with Data Scientists and Engineers (data, process). Our mission is to simplify analytics with innovative data products.

This role is looking for a motivated individual with strong analytical, technical background to join our team as BIE II. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and supporting best-in-class business analytics solutions to help leadership make impactful business decisions. You will own the design, development of analytics solutions to support Topology Planning and Capacity Engineering functions. You will continue to raise the bar for creating scalable, efficient and automated processes for large-scale data analysis.

Position requires excellent statistical, analytical abilities with deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions, data engineering and basic knowledge of Data Science.

Successful candidate will be a self-starter , comfortable with ambiguity, capable of working in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail. They are able to collaborate with customers to transform business problems into technical/BIE requirements and deliverables. Your cross functional collaboration inspires your peers and stakeholders to produce the best BIE/Analytics experience.

Key job responsibilities
- Partner extensively with Topology Planning and Capacity Engineering leaders, to proactively identify analytics needs, translate them to BIE solution designs
- Continuously review and update 'visualization standard' for simplified analytics experience
- Design, develop, test solutions to ensure data management processes, visualization outputs are accurately representing the business insights
- Develop best practice to reduce coding effort by reuse where applicable; replace complex data handling steps with innovative design and simpler tools/utilities
- Drive peers and stakeholders for optimal analysis solutions and insist on highest standards when dealing with data, business logic usage
- Work backwards from KPIs used for business decisions and design analysis process to automate with simple solutions
- Use AWS S3, Redshift, Athena, Quicksight, Tableau to produce reliable BIE solutions. Enable seamless integration between BIE solutions and Strategic Planning, Excel models
- Working knowledge of Regression and Classification algorithms and ability to partner with Research / Data Scientists

AMZL (Amazon Logistics) is the last mile leg of Amazon. We β€˜plan and design the Delivery Station Topology’. AMZL network continues to grow multi-fold in North America and Emerging Market countries, delivering better customer experience at speed to customers. This growth will help AMZL gain most of distribution network share, in every country across the world. AMZL Strategic Planning Team is the key, to set foundation for AMZL network expansion roadmap for 1-5 years horizon.

- 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
