Key job responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards that will support the needs of the business.
- Apply deep analytical and business intelligence skills to extract meaningful insights and learning from large and complicated data sets.
- Be hands-on with ETL to build data pipeline to support automated reporting.
- Collaborate with the business teams to understand problem and provide actionable data driven insights to improve the performance.
- Perform ad hoc investigations to answer business questions or support future improvements. This will require data gathering and manipulation including problem solving.
- Build various data visualizations to tell the story of business trends, patterns, and outliers through rich visualizations.
- Recognize data modeling fundamentals and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis emphasizing on data structure and data quality.

A day in the life
As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will generate insights that will guide operational excellence, business strategy, and success for our products focusing on Candidates across Recruiting. Data deep dive is at the core Amazon’s culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for our organization. You will be gathering customer insights, mining data, making recommendations, and helping senior leaders make key business decisions. You will have the opportunity to work with large and diverse data sets to gather insights using data from multiple data sources.

About the team
The ITA-DATA Global Core Reporting team builds data structures and analytical tools to deliver trusted insights for Workforce Staffing Tier 1 hiring that enable our customers to: (1) review organizational performance, (2) make better hiring decisions, (3) improve operational efficiency, and (4) optimize cost.

- 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tool(s) to extract data, formulate metrics and build reports
- Experience with data querying or modeling with SQL
- Experience with one or more analytics visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI)

- Bachelor's degree, or Advanced technical degree
- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
- Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
