A core part of the supply chain operations is Demand Forecasting: We forecast the demand of tens of millions of products. These forecasts are used to make many decisions, such as automatically order hundreds of millions worth of inventory, decide where to place that inventory, and establish labor plans for hundreds of warehouses.
We need a creative, smart and enthusiastic Business Intelligence Engineer. Your mission will be to improve forecast accuracy and enable partner teams and customers to optimize supply chain decisions. You will do this by detecting, diagnosing and correcting forecast problems and generating metrics and insights. You will have the resources and tools to help you deliver this mission - support from partner teams like Data Engineering/Data Science/Program, rich datasets and tools like AWS Redshift and Tableau.
Key job responsibilities
As a Business Intelligence Engineer in forecasting, you will be responsible for:
- Understanding the opportunities for improvement and partnering with PMs, Science and Engineering to design solutions to complex forecasting problems.
- Come up with innovative solutions working with our machine learning & research scientists that solves forecasting challenges for new businesses that Amazon keeps inventing.
- Communicate and earn trust with our customers in retail & our downstream systems.
- Develop strong reporting mechanisms for internal and external teams.
