Ring is seeking an insightful and analytical Business Intelligence Engineer with strong business and technical skills to join our growing Ring Software and Services BI Organization. In this role, you will work with various executive, product management, engineering, finance, logistics, sales, and marketing teams. Your work will support our mission of making neighborhoods safer, be highly visible to leadership, and drive key strategic company goals.

Key job responsibilities
Enable decision-making by conducting analyses from multiple sources to present research in a digestible and actionable format.
β€’ Analyze large data sets using a variety of query and visualization tools.
β€’ Provide technical expertise in integrating and analyzing critical data.
β€’ Anticipate, identify, structure, and solve critical problems.
β€’ Design and develop key performance metrics and indicators using standardized and custom reports.
β€’ Perform ad hoc analysis to quickly solve time sensitive operational issues and business cases.
β€’ Provide mentorship and coaching for embedded analysts and other business teams.
β€’ Clearly communicate any potential discrepancies and/or reporting downtime, including specific root cause, steps to resolution, and resolution date to a large end-user base.
β€’ Work with subject matter experts to document and translate business requirements into technical requirements.

A day in the life
You will develop executive dashboards, run ad hoc analysis focussing on growth, and build a data quality framework. Additionally, you will be instrumental in the creation of a reliable and scalable infrastructure for ongoing reporting and analytics. You will be structuring ambiguous problems and designing analytics across various disciplines, resulting in actionable recommendations ranging from strategic planning, product strategy/launches, and engineering improvements to marketing campaign optimization, customer servicing trending, and research

About the team
The RSS BI Team is focussed on providing end to end data solutions for Ring subscriptions and product teams. Our goal is to provide data driven solutions that would eventually help our subscription and product teams to roll out best in class services for our customers

- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
