Amazon’s Special Programs, Evaluations, Assessments, & Response (SPEAR) Organization is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) for the Data and Analytics (DNA) team to build and support scalable, automated reporting mechanisms that enable customers to make effective, data-driven decisions and to reinforce the overall Rhythm of the Business (RoB). The DNA team serves as a force multiplier to the organization, providing visibility to strategic planning and operational insights for SPEAR related services.
In this role, the BIE will own and architect scalable solutions across multiple business domains, driving insights through advanced statistical analysis, artificial intelligence (AI) integration, and data visualization techniques. They will lead cross-functional initiatives to develop and implement sophisticated analytical tools, self-service platforms, and metrics frameworks that enable data-driven decision making at scale. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen, demonstrating proven ability to influence stakeholders and translate complex business requirements into technical solutions. They will identify strategic opportunities, lead technical design reviews, and establish best practices while mentoring other builders.
Successful members of this team collaborate effectively with end-users, software development teams, and peer engineering teams to solve problems, and implement new solutions. Experience architecting large-scale systems, implementing complex data models, and driving automation is essential. The role requires a balance of technical leadership and business partnership, with the ability to continuously evolve analytical capabilities through emerging technologies and industry best practices.
The position is remotely based and requires international travel amounting to approximately 20% to ensure the delivery of this team’s mission.
