Overview:
The Tech Integration Coach/Data Specialist is essential in supporting educators by managing and collecting data, providing technical support, and offering training. This role includes collecting data for state and federal reports, extracting and analyzing data for various needs, and managing student information in district software. Responsibilities also involve overseeing the student information system (SIS), assessment management system, and other key educational systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and strong analytical skills, attention to detail, expertise in database management, and be able to provide effective PD to educators.
Responsibilities: Technology Integration and Support:
Provide training and professional development to educators on the effective use of technology in the classroom.
Assist teachers in integrating digital tools and resources into their curriculum.
Offer technical support for classroom technology, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Troubleshoot malfunctions of database systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
Serve as the liaison between software providers, District Administrators, and personnel to manage data, migration, and security.
Develop and provide reports upon request by the administration.
System Management:
Oversee the management of educational technology systems, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Information Systems (SIS) e.g. PowerSchool including the end-of-year rollover process and supporting schools in student scheduling, grade/credit storage, attendance recording, and discipline data management.
Ensure the smooth operation of technology infrastructure and applications used in the district.
Build and customize database, attendance and report card reports
Support the administration of the student information system (SIS) and assessment management system to ensure effective utilization in conjunction with the Clever and Google Admin Console platforms.
Assist in managing and supporting PowerSchool SIS, assist teachers with PowerTeacher gradebook use, setup, and troubleshooting, ensuring accuracy in grades, honor roll, and GPA calculations.
Monitor system for data accuracy and collect data for various State and Federal reports, including PSIS, TCS, CRDC, CPFA, and ED166
Data Management and Analysis:
Collect, and provide data, to stakeholders to be used to inform instructional practices and decision-making.
Generate reports and insights on technology usage and its impact on student learning outcomes.
Conduct data extraction and analysis for State and District purposes such as reporting, monitoring, surveys, and planning.
Assist with the management of district testing with the TIDE portal for NGSS and SBA
Generate and upload state reports, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
Prepare and upload electronic files to meet state and federal reporting requirements.
Complete State and Federal reporting, including training staff on reporting requirements and resolving data inquiries.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with teachers, administrators, and IT personnel to identify technology needs and develop solutions.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to support technology integration efforts and address any concerns.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with emerging educational technologies and best practices.
Recommend and implement new tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Clear and effective communication with teachers, administrators, and students to provide training, support, and feedback.
Experience in or understanding of instructional methods to better support teachers in integrating technology into their curriculum (Classroom teaching experience)
Understanding and patience when working with educators and students who may have varying levels of technical proficiency.
Capacity to troubleshoot technical issues, develop solutions, and adapt to new challenges.
Ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including teachers, administrators, and IT staff, to achieve common goals.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Must have a Connecticut State Teaching Certificate (any grade appropriate CT certificate).
