Position Summary:
Working under the general direction of the Director, Academic Programs, Planning and Quality Assurance, the Coordinator, Academic Programs and Data Analyst is responsible for supporting a wide-range of high-level and confidential activities related to the creation, review and closure of academic programs and units as part of the University of Toronto Quality Assurance Process which encompasses all undergraduate and graduate programs (more than 150) and 50-70 units at the University of Toronto. With a particular responsibility for contributing to the provision of expert advice relative to academic planning and reviews across the University.
Key responsibilities include, contributing to the management of a large volume of complex correspondence for the Director, Academic Programs, Planning and Quality Assurance and the Vice-Provost, Academic Programs that is directly relevant to confidential strategic planning and decision-making around the delivery of academic programs Managing the collection, modelling, analysis, interpretation, reporting, and dissemination of academic program data and student pathway intelligence to support institutional priorities including program quality assurance, flexible degree pathways (FlexPath/Future Ready Degrees), curriculum management, microcredentials governance, and partnership planning. The Analyst performs analyses of both institutional data and external sources, directly supporting strategic planning and governance submissions. The Coordinator supports academic planning and review administration, including the University of Toronto Quality Assurance Process (UTQAP), contributing to governance submissions, policy development, committee administration, and coordination of academic change processes. The role requires operating within a complex and confidential environment that demands a high level of sensitivity, responsiveness, and discretion.
Qualifications Required:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a in social sciences, statistics, data analytics, higher education, public policy, or a related field required; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in data collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis, interpretation, report writing, and presentation with data visualizations, preferably in a post-secondary or public sector environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with large institutional datasets; gathering, analyzing, and presenting data in a professional and confidential manner using appropriate tools.
