We are seeking a Data Analyst to help modernize and maintain the firm's internal data infrastructure. In this role, you will lead the transition of our legacy Microsoft Access database to Azure, safeguard data quality across the organization, and support our risk management team through the implementation and ongoing use of MSCI Barra. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who wants to own data processes end-to-end and drive meaningful improvements to how the firm works with data. Key Responsibilities • Maintain and support the team's internal database, currently built on Microsoft Access. • Lead and support the ongoing migration of the database from Access to Azure. • Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues through data cleaning and validation. • Support the Risk Management team with the implementation of MSCI Barra, including ongoing maintenance, enhancement, and support following go-live. • Own and maintain all data feeds, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and reliability. • Propose and implement process improvements to streamline data workflows and reporting. • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI. • Serve as a bridge between back office and front office teams on data needs and workflows. • Partner with the Client Experience Team to develop and implement improved long-term approaches for retrieving data from the database. • Write and optimize SQL queries to support data extraction, transformation, and analysis. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. • 2–5 years of relevant professional experience. • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation. • Strong SQL skills, including querying, joins, and optimization. • Experience with Microsoft Access, including database structure, queries, and forms/reports. • Experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI. • Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis. • Comfort working with large datasets and a strong attention to detail. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Preferred Qualifications • Prior exposure to Azure (Azure SQL, Data Factory, or similar). • Familiarity with MSCI Barra or other risk analytics platforms. • Experience in financial services, investment management, or risk management. • Experience with database migration projects.
