Overview: The Data Analyst supports the Business Intelligence team and functional units across the university system by serving as a point of contact for external and compliance-driven reporting requests, and by documenting, standardizing, and streamlining the university's growing external reporting operations. This role focuses on academic compliance, regulatory and government reporting, grant and third-party funding submissions, and external reporting for rankings, badges, and industry-recognized organizations. The Data Analyst brings modern technical proficiency to ensure reporting processes are sustainable, repeatable, and well-documented, applying strong attention to detail to the varying requirements and definitions attached to each external reporting request. This role requires strong business analysis skills, clear stakeholder communication, and effective customer management to translate complex reporting requirements into scalable solutions, and partners directly with the broader BI department to align on data standards, tooling, and priorities. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related field required. Two years of equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. A minimum of two years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or a closely related business analysis function required. Demonstrated experience supporting compliance, regulatory, or external reporting obligations preferred. Experience with technical documentation of data or reporting requirements in a professional setting preferred. Compensation is determined based on the qualifications, experience, and circumstances of each hire. It is uncommon for new employees to start near the top of the salary range. RESPONSIBILITIES: External and Compliance Reporting Support the preparation and timely submission of external reports to regulatory, government, accreditation, and third-party entities, including academic compliance, grant and funding bodies, rankings organizations, and industry badge and certification programs. Validate data accuracy and completeness for required external submissions by applying defined quality checks, review processes, and cross-referencing source systems. Research and interpret external reporting specifications, standards, and submission requirements to ensure institutional responses align with published criteria and timelines. Monitor submission calendars and reporting schedules, proactively communicating status and upcoming obligations to relevant stakeholders.
