Data Analyst (SQL/Python/Automation)
Location: Hybrid Baltimore or New York City (East Coast Preferred)
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Overview
We are seeking a Data Analyst to join a growing data and analytics team focused on transforming manual reporting and analysis processes into scalable, automated solutions. This is a hands-on role for a technically strong analyst who enjoys solving business problems, improving processes, and building reliable data products that drive decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance reporting, analytics, and data workflows.
- Write and optimize SQL and Python code for data extraction, transformation, automation, and validation.
- Build scalable processes that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
- Support data pipeline development and maintain reporting environments in cloud-based platforms.
- Create dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into practical data solutions.
- Monitor data quality, troubleshoot issues, and implement sustainable fixes.
- Document processes, workflows, and business rules to support scalable operations.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related fields.
- Strong hands-on SQL skills.
- Strong Python experience for data analysis, automation, and reporting.
- Experience working with Snowflake, Databricks, or similar cloud data platforms.
- Proven ability to automate processes and improve workflow efficiency.
- Experience with ETL, data transformation, and data validation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization tools.
- Background in financial services, asset management, investment management, or other business-focused analytics environments.
- Experience with Git, APIs, or workflow orchestration tools.
- Understanding of sales, CRM, transactional, or operational data.
