The Data Analyst Level 2, under the general supervision of a manager, project manager, or data engineer, queries and analyzes data and creates reports, visualizations, dashboards, and metrics that provide business and clinical insight to aid decision-making pertaining to the core business and its needs. The Data Analyst Level 2 is assigned tasks of moderate to high complexity and is expected to work independently with minimal assistance from a manager, project manager, or data engineer. The Data Analyst Level 2 brings innovative ideas to the attention of their manager, project manager, or data engineer before implementing them. The Data Analyst Level 2 demonstrates clear communication skills, the ability to build good relationships with team members and business leaders and possesses exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. The Data Analyst Level 2 will be expected to share their expertise and mentor Level 1 Data Analysts when necessary.

Responsibilities

What You Can Expect:


β€’ Query relational databases to answer questions pertaining to the business strategy and operations.
β€’ Prepare data for end users, including data sampling, data extraction, aggregation and other data transformations.
β€’ Develop data tables and prepare analytic reports
β€’ Identify and suggest opportunities to improve or automate processes and workflows
β€’ Update supervisor and/or project managers
β€’ Provide time estimates for deliverables and tasks
β€’ Attend weekly team meetings
β€’ Follow all team secure coding standards
β€’ Follow documented work schedule policies
β€’ Adaptability and flexibility to support periodic projects with aggressive timelines
β€’ Perform other tasks as required

Qualifications

Technical skills
β€’ Experience with SQL databases is required
β€’ Familiarity with data visualization software such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker is required.
β€’ Familiarity with statistical analysis tools such as SAS and R is desirable but not required
β€’ Integrated Development Environments: Visual Studio Code or Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio
β€’ Version Control exposure (Git or Team Foundation Server)
β€’ Expertise in using Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience querying relational databases with T-SQL
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in Analytics (Data or Business) or related field.

Education and/or Experience

  • Possess one of the following:
    • Associates degree (Computer Science / Information Systems/Computer Engineering)
    • Bachelor degree (prefer Computer Science / Information Systems / Computer Engineering)
    • equivalent work experience
  • Work/research experience using large medical/clinical relational data bases preferred
