Our summer student internship is a 10-to-14-week program that starts in mid-May and ends in August. During your internship, you'll work on impactful projects that make a difference at our company, with our customers, and in our communities. Interns may be eligible for a one-time hiring bonus to assist with housing costs depending upon proximity to our company office location. Compensation Minimum: $25.00 Compensation Maximum: $39.00 As a Data Analyst Intern, you will join a collaborative analytics team focused on transforming data into actionable business insights that support strategic decision-making across American Family Insurance. Reporting to a Data Analytics leader, you will work with business partners to collect, analyze, and interpret data from a variety of sources, develop reports and dashboards, identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and communicate findings to stakeholders. Through hands-on projects, you will gain experience using data to solve business problems, improve operational performance, and support data-driven recommendations that help achieve organizational goals. Primary Accountabilities Assists in driving business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to stakeholders. Collects, aggregates, and analyzes data from multiple internal and external sources to drive insights into business performance. Aids the production of actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems. Utilizes analytics and metrics to improve processes and provide data-driven forecasts of potential costs, risks, and profits of new business initiatives. Provides findings and insight to be communicated to stakeholders and helps with business strategy recommendations for optimizing business performance. May be requested to complete other assignments or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience. Requirements Must be in student status at an accredited 4-year college or university during the internship, graduating August 2027 or later. Must be pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD. Major/program must align with internship role. Experience with Microsoft Office preferred Experience with SQL preferred. Position requires the ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and basic statistics.
