This position functions as the recognize resource data analyst for the Waiver for Children with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) with the Bureau of Children’s Coordinated Health Policy and Supports at MDHHS. The SED waiver is currently only serving children within identified participating Community Mental Health Service Programs (CMHSP). This position is responsible for implementing the statewide expansion project for the SED waiver. The analyst will be responsible for collection, analyses, and maintaining program data necessary to meet the federal requirements for the Medicaid Home and Community Based SED Waiver Program. Position prepares reports regarding the cost and utilization of waiver services in preparation for annual federal report and provides technical assistance to Behavioral Health Providers. Position also assists with planning and training development for Behavioral Health staff as it relates to the Home and Community Based SED Waiver Program.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.

Preferred: Possession of a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling and guidance, child development, family and child ecology, sociology, family and community services, family studies, or comparable program
 

Experience
Departmental Analyst 12 - Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.

Alternate Education and Experience

Departmental Analyst 9 - 12 - Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

Position Location/Remote Office:  The physical location of this position is 333 S. Grand Ave, Lansing, MI 48933.  Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.
 
Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.  

       

Employees will be provided computers to perform state work.  Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:

  • A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
  • A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
  • Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
