Job Description:


We are seeking a skilled Educational Data Analyst/Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves direct interaction with school district administrators to understand their data analysis needs and challenges. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining custom data dashboards while managing and updating data integrations. This role will report to the Head of Data Science.


Responsibilities:


  • Engage with school district leaders and educators to understand their data analytics needs and to educate diverse stakeholders on how to effectively use the dashboards to interpret data.
  • Design and develop customized metrics and dashboards.
  • Utilize SQL for database management and queries, ensuring accurate and accessible data solutions.
  • Build and maintain data integrations, using Python to automate processes and ensure smooth, accurate data flow between systems.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the data dashboards by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving platform and data quality issues to ensure reliable reporting and effective data modeling.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product to enhance the data platform.

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Experience in working with educational data.
  • Experience working with data visualization tools and dashboard design.
  • Ability to translate complex data into digestible and actionable information.
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Experience with Python for data cleaning, analysis, and automation.
  • Experience in data integration from multiple sources, including APIs and databases.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git, for collaborative data projects.
  • Experience working independently on projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for education and improving educational outcomes.
  • +4 years of experience as a data analyst, data engineer, or similar role.
  • Nice to Have: Experience working with a K12 Student Information System such as Infinite Campus, PowerSchool, Skyward, or Aeries.
