Hours of Work: Temporary Full-time (12 months), 35 hours/week

What you’ll be doing:

  • Data analysis and reporting to support decision making across the organization
  • Analysis and preparation of financial statements and monthly departmental variance reports, including detailed salary analysis
  • Month end journals and account reconciliations
  • Provide exceptional customer service and accounting expertise to cross-functional areas
  • Assist with the year-end external audit process, preparation of relevant working papers, responding to audit queries and information requests
  • Continuous process improvement and work flow efficiencies across the finance department
  • Participate in system improvements and/or new system implementation
  • Support the annual budget process and all ancillary reporting
  • Accurate & timely Ministry reporting including quarterly MIS submissions, quarterly Ontario Health reports, ad hoc requests
  • Support senior management with special projects and other financial analysis as required

What we’re looking for:

  • Two plus years of relevant accounting, data analysis and financial reporting experience, healthcare knowledge is an asset
  • Superior knowledge of Excel for advanced data manipulation and analysis
  • University degree or College diploma in a related field
  • Completion of, or working toward, an accounting designation.Β 
  • Experience with AS400 is considered an asset
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to discuss observations of financial information with management at all levels
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions and implement the recommended course of action
  • Ability to multitask, work within tight schedules and manage competing priorities.Β 
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
