POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Financial Analyst will be a critical part of Meduit’s data analytics team to identify opportunities for our clients to recapture revenue that they did not collect effectively due to a coding, administrative, or reporting errors. The Financial Analyst reviews and cleanses client provided data, imports it into Meduit’s data analytics tools, runs pre-set and custom reports, analyzes results, uncovers issues, and then supports clients to amend their reports to more accurately collect revenue going forward.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Required to be considered for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a major in accounting, finance, statistics, math, or related majors that emphasize data organization and analytics
  • Must be computer proficient with intermediate to advanced skills with Excel (minimum)
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to complex technical or business process projects working with cross organizational teams
  • Excellent organizational skills, demonstrates ability to manage projects, juggle multiple responsibilities while simultaneously meeting deadlines
  • Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology systems to support loading and synthesizing data of varying types and sizes, and on various platforms

Qualifications that are not required, but a plus if you have them:

  • PLUS (not required): 2-3 years working for a top 10 accounting firm, management consulting firm, or a large commercial/investment bank with experience synthesizing large amount of data
  • PLUS (not required): Experience with ACCESS and SQL Server
  • PLUS (not required): MBA, CPA, or CFA a plus, but not required. CPA license does not need to be active
  • PLUS (not required): Healthcare industry experience a plus, but not required

  6. Prefers long, uninterrupted periods of focused work vs. frequent interaction with colleagues.
  7. A natural self-motivated learner of topics and/or terms they do not yet understand.

POSITION DETAILS:

  • Data Validation: Review client-provided financial data to determine if it is ready to be analyzed in the Meduit analytics tool and follow-up with clients to address issues in a timely manner.
  • Data Analysis: Run a series of reports through Meduit tools to produce outputs for manual analysis. Able to carefully identify errors, understand or uncover the root cause, and fix issues quickly.
  • Data Execution. Work with Meduit analytics outputs to uncover client opportunity and develop new documentation to support a re-filing of client cost reports to reclaim lost revenue. Β Β 
  • Quality Assurance. Ability to complete highly detailed and analytical work in an efficient manner that ensures accuracy, reliability, and completeness.
  • Finance & Accounting Fluent: Ability to understand the financial system of a hospital, how it impacts billing, and explain results of analysis to professional finance staff at the client.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Significant client interaction, problem-solving, and scheduling coordination involved to achieve the goals of each project, and alignment with stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Continual refinement of the project delivery process, which may include development of manuals and checklists to effectively communicate improvement strategies.
  • Collaboration: Working effectively with the sales team to transition new contacts in as clients, and partner with project managers and analytics colleagues to deliver a great project outcome.
