A Financial Analyst in Public Health and Human Services serves as a fiscal supervisor in the Finance & Operations Division and as a liaison both internally and externally. This position is responsible for the oversight of all activities performed by the unit, accounting and audit-related functions, as well as analyzing, developing, and implementing financial system policies and procedures consistent with the Auditor's Office policies and procedures to ensure fiscal and programmatic integrity in the department's operations.
Duties of this role include:
- Direct supervision of staff (includes coaching & mentoring) in the following areas: accounting, MA & PMAP claims, child foster care placement administration, estate recovery
- Financial reporting and analysis
- Budget development and management
- Financial close and audit support (complex reconciliations, journal entries, work papers)
- Communication with program areas and external providers
- Oversight of functions involving payables and receivables
- Applying and implementing best practices, audit standards, and internal controls
- Identifying and leading process improvement initiatives
The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2026. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $36.37 - $52.30 per hour.
This position is part of the Civil Service Supervisory Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement represented by the St. Louis County Employees Association.
