JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE


Β 


The incumbent provides credit risk analyses in support of various proposed transactions. The position is also responsible for ensuring that collateral requirements associated with positions in the wholesale energy markets are appropriately managed.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Identify and opine on credit risk in proposals for investments to the corporate risk committee. Provide risk mitigation advice to support investment decisions. Own the database of counterparty credit ratings.

  • Own the processes and tools for assessing counterparty credit risk profile including internal models, Bloomberg, CRMZ and Rapid Ratings

  • Identify and implement process improvements to benefit the team and/or the organization.

  • In a backup role, manage liquidity needs associated with the operating companies’ activities in the organized wholesale markets by ensuring collateral management processes are well executed.

  • In a backup role, provide valuation and reporting services related to the enterprise’s portfolio of wholesale energy transactions.

  • Lead the development of various executive level and external reports related to credit and liquidity risks.

  • Participates in special projects to support business processes.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • 4-6 years of experience in a related field

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position



  • Extensive credit risk management knowledge, preferably in the electric utility industry

  • Ability to analyze and extract information from financial statements to assess the creditworthiness of counterparties

  • High level of familiarity with the types of transactions inherent in the electric utility or other capital-intensive industries

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Ability to work within a team environment and lead a team with minimal supervision

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple time sensitive projects effectively
