Financial Analyst I

Salary Range: $62,500 - 68,000 /annually
General Description and Classification Standards:
Develops, interprets, and implements financial concepts for financial planning and control. This is a Senior level professional finance position.
Supervision Received:
Works under very general supervision. Depending on organization structure, may work independently with responsibility for an assigned function or program.

Develops, interprets, and implements financial concepts for financial planning and control.
Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance.
Gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts.
Performs economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements.
Carries out assignments that are typically straightforward in nature.
Collaborates with senior peers on projects.
Selects from multiple procedures and methods to accomplish tasks.
Applies organizational policies.
Routinely provides work group leadership, guidance, and/or training to less experienced staff.
Serves as a technical resource or mentor to other employees.
Coordinates with the program analysts, service providers, and City departments as necessary for grant-efficient and effective financial management.
Assists in the preparation and review of legislation.
Participates in onsite monitoring and desk audits, perform monthly grant reconciliations, and analyze expenditures activities.
Maintains current training and development on applicable federal grant programs and policies and the systems and tools used by CoA to conduct grants management, including IDIS, HMIS, SAGE, Oracle, Neighborly, Microsoft 365 suite, etc.
Monitors contracts’ financial performance, including the burn rate to ensure compliance with the contract terms and immediately notify the relevant managers of any deviations and potential non-completion and performance of the contract agreement.
May lead or instruct less experienced workers in high level or technical jobs.
May perform other duties as assigned.
