Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) group is seeking to fill a FP&A Financial Analyst position on our business line support team. As part of our central finance function, you will support the Bank's decision making and compliance functions with timely, accurate, and reasonable financial information and projections.
You will partner with business areas to develop operating financial plans to respond to theirΒ needs andΒ help ensure that financial management reporting and cost allocation is compliant with Federal Reserve System expectations.
You will develop broad perspectives on the Bank while applying strong communication, finance, and analytical skills to ensure efficient and effective budget and forecast processes and provide ready access to useful and accurate information and analyses for Bank management.
Responsibilities:
Work with business areas to create monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and explain direct and indirect costs for their operations.
Conduct variance analysis on actuals/forecast/budget to tell the financial story to business lines, internal teams, and System stakeholders.
Work in financial applications to input accurate FTE and non-personnel spend aligned to business needs.
Serve as a financial consultant and working with Senior Management, providing detailed and complex analyses to aid in decision making.
Research, analyze, and compile financial data from multiple sources to produce business information.
Assign business line spend to appropriate activities for activity-based costing and reporting.
Provide guidance and support on position management, including reconciliation of data for backfills, repurposes, or new position requests and how those impact financials to ensure accurate cost center, start and end dates, and level in our Systems.
Lead or participate in projects and workgroups that impact the Bank and the Federal Reserve System.
Review employee activity assignments to ensure salary expenses are allocated to the appropriate activities.
Perform the analyses and the writing of the Bank's budget document for the Board of Governors.
Provide information to System contacts about business line assumptions.
Prepare financial performance, scenario, and ad hoc analyses to aid in decision making.
Review, verify, and analyze financial information for accuracy and compliance.
Develop and maintain procedures for your business lines specific processes and shared team processes.
Qualifications:
To be considered for a FP&A Financial Analyst II:
Bachelorβs degree in finance or related field and minimum of 2 years of full-time experience is required OR
Associate degree in finance or related field and minimum of 4 years of full-time experience is required
To be considered for a FP&A Financial Analyst III:
The amount of responsibility, complexity, and oversight of work will vary depending on level.Β A level III analyst will work more independently, provide work direction, lead projects, support complex business functions, and engage in more complex project assignments and analyses.
Bachelorβs degree in finance or related field and minimum of 4 years of full-time experience is required OR
Associate degree and minimum of 6 years of full-time experience is required
Applicable at both levels:
Experience managing and adapting to multiple concurrent projects, shifting priorities, deadlines, and informational needs.
Ability to take initiative and work well with a multitude of individuals and levels within the organization.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts to a wide range of audiences, including executive management, and individuals with various knowledge levels.
Strong finance, analyses, project, and time management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Teams/Office 365 and strong Excel skills are required.
Understanding the role of compliance in tandem with customer service is highly valued.
Ability to combine a big picture perspective with a high level of attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team setting, as well as the willingness to work independently without extensive oversight.
Experience with Workday, Adaptive Planning, Office Connect, Power BI, Tableau, SharePoint and/or other reporting tools is preferred.
MBA or professional certifications preferred.
