Kalman & CompanyοΏ½s Business Analytics team seeks motivated, experienced professionals to join our growing team of cost analysts serving Federal and DoD clients. As part of our team, youοΏ½ll provide our Government clients with strategic programming, planning, and advisory support services. The Financial Analyst (Lead) position is tied to a contract award targeted in the first quarter of 2025. This position will support Fort Meade, MD; onsite work is required. The salary range is $105K/year-$120K/year depending upon the selected applicant's years of experience and qualifications.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct program financial analysis on program execution.
- Identify cost issues that will affect the program ability to meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
- Assess the impact to the planned activities and support development of any financial analysis or documentation required by the Government to achieve its objective/milestones.
- Support action officers to ensure that all requirements and financial data are captured for technical and innovative efforts, track the status, and provide status reports.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- US Citizenship required.
- An Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., economics, engineering, mathematics, operations research, statistics or business)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience performing financial analyses for defense, intelligence, or civil agency programs
- Strong expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis to support organizational financial goals and strategic decision-making.
- Proficiency in analyzing large datasets and preparing accurate, detailed financial reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to perform variance analysis, identifying trends, potential risks, and opportunities for cost savings or increased efficiency.
- Proficiency in financial tools and software, such as Microsoft Excel.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining detailed financial models, including cost-benefit analyses and "what-if" scenarios for projects or organizational initiatives.
- Knowledge of Government and DoD financial regulations, ensuring compliance with federal standards in reporting and budgeting.
- Familiarity with contractual financial requirements such as invoicing, funding allocation, and monitoring burn rates.
Preferred:
- Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), or CPA certification.
- Familiarity with tools like Deltek Costpoint, Oracle ERP systems, or similar software.
- Experience presenting financial findings to high-level stakeholders, including Government and DoD customers.
