The Financial Analyst will provide comprehensive program financial management and analysis in support of government contracts. This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in program financial analysis and a working knowledge of Government accounting and financial systems, including but not limited to Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF), Comptroller Financial Information System (CFIS), Commanders’ Resource Information System (CRIS), FMSuites, and Defense Enterprise Accounting Management System (DEAMS). The role demands expertise in appropriations, stages of accounting, and accounting principles, with the ability to analyze financial transactions, reconcile discrepancies, recommend process improvements, substantiate financial data, and maintain accounting controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, be detail-oriented, and be adept at supporting both program teams and senior leadership with accurate financial insights. This position requires an active DoD Secret Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform program financial analysis, tracking budgets, obligations, and expenditures against contract requirements.
- Utilize Government accounting and financial systems (WAWF, CFIS, CRIS, FMSuites, DEAMS, Government-approved Accounting System) to process, monitor, and reconcile transactions.
- Interpret and apply appropriations law, stages of accounting, and federal financial regulations.
- Analyze and reconcile financial discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, supporting documentation, and audit-ready files.
- Develop financial forecasts, burn rate analyses, and variance reports to support program and organizational decision-making.
- Monitor funding levels, contract modifications, and changes impacting program financials.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Recommend improvements to financial processes and controls to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Collaborate with program managers, contracting officers, and other stakeholders to resolve financial issues and ensure timely payment processing.
- Maintain awareness of changes in Government financial systems, policies, and procedures.
