About the role:
As a Financial Analyst, youโ€™ll have your finger on the financial pulse of the entire organization. Working with a diverse team, youโ€™ll be responsible develop, interpret, and implement financial concepts for financial planning and control.

About the team:ย ย 
You will be part of the Finance team supporting our Banking Technical Development Team.ย  Being a true partner with the Wealth and Retirement Development team.ย  This will be a hybrid role with expectations to be in the office a minimum of 2 days a week.ย 

What you will be doing:

  • Track expenses on a monthly basis, comparing actual to forecasted figures and make necessary adjustments.

  • Communicate and present financial results and forecasts, ensuring reports are clear and understood, including assumptions and dependencies.

  • Detailed review of expense forecast performance and expectations with business stakeholders, identifying risks, opportunities and required actions to attain annual targets

  • Perform technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance

  • Investigation of existing expenditures with a view to identifying cost savings

  • Consistent review of existing processes to identify improvements or efficiencies

  • Gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts.ย 

  • Meet with department managers to discuss and establish timelines and methodologies for completing budgets.

  • Prepare reports for management summarizing results of research, analyses and evaluation of any discrepancies.

  • Researching, building and collating financial information from various sources, including department leaders and other teams to inform forecast accuracy

  • Financial analysis as required on various business projects and related initiatives

What you will need:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or higher in Finance or Accounting

  • Minimum 3 years of Corporate Finance experience

  • Proficient in Oracle-Hyperion

  • Power BI or Alteryx experience would be helpful

  • Good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles as well as company accounting policies, procedures and standards

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools

  • Analytical and statistical examination skills

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish work to ensure critical deadlines are met

  • Communication โ€“ comfortable to explain financial performance, indicators and metrics to non-financial professionals

  • Data management and analytical skills โ€“ handling and interpreting large sets of data

  • Process improvement โ€“ ability to recognize and instigate improvements to existing processes and workflows
