PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Financial Analyst, Supply Chain Finance F&II is a lead member of the finance team that is the liaison between logistics, supply chain, procurement, operations, commercial, accounting, and regional finance. Will perform financial analysis, focusing on logistics and supply chain costs, to support the U.S./Canadian Region planning and decision-making processes that ensure the profitability and sustainability of the business. F&II Supply Chain costs represent 70% of total expenditure for freight & distribution in the US/CAN Network, and a robust mix of railcar fleet assets, breakstations, warehouses, and unique modes of transportation. Position will report to the Manager, Financial Consolidation & Supply chain F&II US/CAN
What you will do:
- Manage the month-end close process for freight ledger accounts, and generation of journal entries as required. Interact with Shared Service Center finance staff to ensure accuracy of accounting entries.
- Lead annual and quarterly forecasts and all pre-work required by preparing US/CAN logistics budget, analytically reviewing forecasts for financial integrity, completeness and being reflective of current expectations.
- Evaluate monthly, quarterly, and annual results against forecasts identifying performance drivers and highlighting risk and opportunities. Keep appraised of business developments to assess financial impacts, make value-added recommendations and prepare ad hoc analyses for executive team that facilitate sound business decisions, forecasts and strategies.
- Develop new and streamline existing processes and systems as required to ensure more efficient delivery of value-add information to both internal and external stakeholders. Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies where possible.
