About the Opportunity

FirstEnergy’s Program Delivery Financial Management & Controls team plays a critical role in overseeing a multi-billion-dollar portfolio, managing more than $2 billion in regulatory and program spend across a five-year horizon. We are committed to ensuring the financial health, compliance, and cost efficiency of our programs while supporting strategic growth and operational excellence.
The Financial Business Analyst plays a critical role in controls governance, including the design, documentation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of financial and program controls, while supporting audit readiness and compliance efforts. This role will also be responsible for developing and delivering executive-level reporting and insights, translating complex financial and program data into clear, actionable information to support senior leadership decision-making.
The preferred reporting location is FirstEnergy Headquarters in Akron, Ohio. Other locations within the company's service territory will be considered.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership and oversight for program financial management, including budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Establishing and maintaining program controls governance frameworks, ensuring consistency, compliance, and alignment with enterprise standards.
- Developing and delivering senior leadership–level reporting, including presentations, dashboards, and strategic insights.
- Performing analytical activities to support the standardization and optimization of financial and program management processes.
- Driving accountability and financial discipline across program teams.
- Leading status reporting, performance tracking, and effectiveness measurement.
- Managing accounting activities and ensure compliance with financial and regulatory standards.
- Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to align financial strategies with program objectives.
- Partnering with stakeholders to ensure audit re
