DescriptionThe Fiscal and Business Analyst I position focuses on the development of core competencies under guidance, supporting routine fiscal functions, applying foundational knowledge, and building proficiency in established processes within a structured setting. This role is structured on a specialized area that requires in-depth training and a strong understanding of clinical trial fiscal operations.
Responsibilities
- Payments & Reconciliation: Performs payment reconciliation and application in VELOS, ensuring alignment with contractual budgets and milestones. Collaborate with sponsors and study teams to capture all billable events, resolve discrepancies, and maintain records in accordance with established procedures.
- Billing: Manage monthly sponsor billing by generating reports, invoicing per contractual terms, and addressing billing disputes. Interprets contract language and coordinates with study teams and OCR pre-award to support amendments as needed.
- Startup & Setup: Conducts CTMS setup reviews, activates calendars, and ensures accurate configuration of budgets, billing triggers, and milestones. Interprets contracts and budgets to support accurate billing, reporting, and application of OCR fee schedules.
- Accounts Receivable: Manages AR for assigned studies, including sponsor and EDC payments; escalates complex issues as needed. Additional Duties: Supports unit operations, including FAST and BiR entries, and performing other duties as needed.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or other field directly related to the position's specific responsibilities and 0-2 years of fiscal related work experience; or a Bachelor's degree in no specific required field and two years of fiscal related work experience; or four years fiscal related work experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Analytical thinking skills. Problem solving. Ability to work within a team. Effective communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of accounting, consolidated financial reporting, reconciliation of multiple accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable and journal entries.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in clinical trial financial systems and operations.
Critical thinking / problem solving, good communication and team worker.
Working knowledge of clinical trial financial life-cycle and academic research admin practices.
