The Team
Join the relatively new Indigenous Fiscal Agreements Branch, one of the six branches of the Finance and Corporate Services division of the Ministry of Children & Family Development. ย Members of this team collaborate with the goal of supporting Indigenous Child and Family Services Agencies (ICFSA) to deliver inclusive, culturally respectful, responsive and accessible services that support the well-being of indigenous children, youth and families. ย Currently, there are 24 Indigenous Child and Family Services Agencies with various levels of delegation. The annual funding in delegated services is over $280 million. The Analysis and Decision Support Unit, a team of 9 within this new branch provides leadership and guidance on data analysis to strengthen our business model, optimize the use and development of financial and corporate resources, maximize Ministry capacity and provide quality services to support improved outcomes for children, youth and families.ย 

The Role
The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing support in data analysis, comparative analysis, financial modelling and reporting, research and development work to advance the branchโ€™s mandate and strengthen the Ministryโ€™s decision making in the delivery of child and family programs and services.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • University Degree or Diploma in Business /Finance (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in financial and management accounting
  • Experience developing and/or maintaining complex spreadsheets; preparing financial statements and reports and developing and maintaining budget and expenditure forecasting tools

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience in conducting analytical research, business case analysis and financial statement preparation to support financial decision making
  • Experience in a government setting or large organizations

About this Position:

This is a temporary opportunity until November 21, 2025. This position may be extended or become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
