What you will be doing at Globalstar:
As a Gateway Engineering & Support (GES) – Data Analyst, you will provide advanced technical support and Data Analysis for Globalstar’s Gateway Systems. You will work with multiple technical departments and provide data analysis and metrics validations for ground-based antenna systems. Also, you will write SQL queries and Python scripts to extract meaningful information from large data sets / data lakes. You will compete statistical analysis and create visualizations for Senior Manager and Technical Team Leads.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Analyze large datasets of information generated by ground-based antenna systems that include mechanical, RF, and electrical components.
- Work with overlapping departments including engineering technical support, reliability engineering department, and operations to analyze collected operational data with the goal of increasing overall network performance
- Create and maintain performance thresholds and automated reporting on all service affecting equipment
- Create and maintain operational documentation including solutions documents, technical bulletins, and recommended Operations and Maintenance procedures.
- Provide technical support and assistance to Operations personnel in fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair of all operational equipment
What you will bring to Globalstar
- Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering field with a concentration in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or closely related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI
- 5+ years of experience with large technical data projects
- 3+ years of experience with Python
- 3+ years of experience with SQL
- Familiar with AWS data tools (S3, Kinesis, Kinesis Analytics, etc)
- A clear understanding of datasets for wireless communication systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skil
