UFG is currently hiring for Guidewire PolicyCenter, Sr. Business Analyst to collaborate with their team members to define business needs, conduct research, gather and document requirements, facilitate discussions, and lead continuous improvement of business processes and team outcomes. The Sr. Business Analyst leverages experience to guide, mentor, and advise team members and stakeholders. Our business analysts work in a collaborative and evolving environment that values adaptability, partnerships, and effective communication.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Guide, mentor, and review work of other analysts, both within and across teams, on best practices for business analysis and collaboration.

Gather and document business needs:
- Elicit business needs using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, and task and workflow analysis.
- Raise awareness of cross-team/functional dependencies and impacts.
- Capture what the current system is providing to the business (which includes a Product Owner where applicable).
- Define business needs within complex or ambiguous problem spaces to meet objectives.

Gain understanding of the initial scope of work.
- Summarize the information gathered and ensure team members have a clear and aligned understanding of business needs.
- Lead research and analysis efforts to define and clarify business needs.
- Evaluate change requests to project scope based on the perceived benefits and the impact on project timelines.
- Recommend only those changes that add value, represent a sound investment, and support project goals and objectives.
- Communicate scope of work changes to team members and stakeholders as applicable.

Analyze the business needs by participating in the following:
- Help the business unit to understand the abilities of the systems and how they meet business needs.
- Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources including reconciling discrepancies.
- Drive alignment across stakeholders and facilitate resolution of conflicting or ambiguous business needs.
- Distinguish user requests from the underlying needs.
- Translate information from a technical to non-technical format, and vice versa, to meet the needs of the audience including key stakeholders.
