The Senior Data Analyst (Epic BID) will be a vital part of the Enterprise Analytics team, tasked with identifying business intelligence and data analysis needs that support strategic objectives across both clinical and operational areas within Franciscan's EMR system. In this role, you will also provide key user education on EMR business intelligence solutions, analytical tools, and data governance, while developing analytics content for end users and third-party data consumers.
You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to assess data requirements, identify appropriate data sources, and extract and manipulate data using various EMR reporting and analytical tools. Your goal will be to present these insights in a clear, actionable format to inform and guide decision-making processes.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Works on various BI and data analytics solutions, to support various clinical/business areas including quality, patient safety, regulatory, clinical service lines and financial/administrative functions in both Hospital-based and Ambulatory Provider settings.
Provides healthcare analytics support (e.g. predictive and prescriptive analytics, statistical analysis, data validation) to generate insights that can be transformed into action and include a broad set of tools and processes for collecting, integrating, accessing, and analyzing information.
Develops automated reports, scorecards and dashboards using various EMR or BI tools such as Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects or Crystal Reports, and guides users with data discovery and analysis via a high-level understanding of BI tool architecture, functions, features and capabilities.
Works effectively with IS and other departments to design, create, test, and implement analytic tools, workflows, and applications that support stakeholder needs and improve data collection and reporting strategies.
Writes custom SQL and modifies existing reports, as necessary
Provides user education on EMR and other BI solutions, analytical applications, and data governance to assist in ensuring access to data with the goal of promoting self-service and reduced reliance on technical specialists. Guides users with data discovery and analysis via a high-level understanding of EMR and BI tool architecture, functions, features and capabilities.
Reviews upgrade documentation related to EMR database features and helps implement the changes
Configures and tests EMR-released reporting content for all applications or Service Lines
