Insurance Company Financial Analyst Manager

The Pennsylvania Insurance Department, Financial Analysis Division is seeking an Insurance Company Financial Analyst Manager to join us in analyzing and monitoring the financial status of insurance companies.  In this role, you will oversee analysts’ workflow while prioritizing the analysis process. This includes reviewing staff work, participating in financial examinations and meetings, and training staff in the application of risk-focused surveillance concepts, best practices, and advanced analytical skills. Work involves organizing and presenting the results of research and analysis, applying accounting principles and best practices to identify solutions to problems, and demonstrating an advanced understanding of insurance financial and operational risks, risk management techniques, and transaction flows.

You will also be expected to participate in the development and implementation of program policies, procedures, standards, and requirements. Additionally, you will communicate and correspond with company executives, department staff, other regulators, and the NAIC to investigate issues identified during the analysis process and evaluate whether additional regulatory actions are warranted. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Schedule is flexible.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as an Insurance Company Financial Analyst 2 (commonwealth title); or 
• Four years of professional accounting, auditing, financial investigation, financial compliance, or insurance market conduct experience; and a bachelor’s degree in insurance, accounting, finance, statistics, economics, public administration, business administration, or a closely related field, which includes 15 credits in accounting, finance, or auditing; or 
• An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 15 credits in accounting, finance, or auditing.
