About the Team: Our IT team’s mission is to push the boundaries of technology with the intention of going above and beyond to aid stores and customers and deliver timely solutions to benefit all members of Grocery Outlet. About the Role:

The IT Functional Business Analyst will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, helping to translate business requirements into technical specifications. They will be responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring that IT solutions meet business needs. They will also be responsible for creating and maintaining system and data flows that support business processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of business operations. This role reports to the Product Management Director.Β

Responsibilities Include:

  • Engage with business customers and stakeholders to gather business goals and needs.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand their processes, gather requirements, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Elicit requirements using various methods, including interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, use cases, and workflow analysis.
  • Challenge business assumptions and identify opportunities for improvement in executing business plans.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications for development teams.
  • Analyze interdependencies between functional and non-functional requirements, identifying and documenting constraints, assumptions, and risks.
  • Document and maintain system process and data flows for business processes
  • Identify gaps in current processes and provide potential solutions to address them.
  • Act as the liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring both parties have a clear understanding of project requirements.
  • Maintain timely and clear communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment and manage expectations.
  • Work closely with international, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, large-scale transformation projects.
  • Prepare and present recommendations for system improvements or new solutions.
  • Define and document acceptance criteria with business stakeholders, ensuring all requirements are testable and actionable.
  • Provide continuous support to technical teams, ensuring they have the necessary information and resources to deliver successful outcomes.

About The Pay:

  • Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role.
  • Proven experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and process analysis.
  • Experience with business process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
  • Familiarity with system development lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, or similar enterprise systems (experience in retail, supply chain, or finance systems is a plus).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing business needs.
  • Previous experience in retail, logistics, or supply chain industries is a plus.
