POSITION PURPOSE:

We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented Marketing Analyst who will play a pivotal role in driving data-informed decision-making and optimizing marketing strategies. This individual will take ownership of the entire data lifecycleโ€”from gathering and organizing information, to generating insights that influence key business decisions. As a key member of our team, this role will contribute directly to the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and business performance through data analysis and actionable recommendations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience with automation and data tools, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to deliver impactful marketing insights that drive organizational success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze the performance of specific marketing campaigns, promotions, and local restaurant initiatives to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Generate and distribute daily and weekly reports to analyze and monitor sales performance, identify trends, and provide insights that inform strategic business decisions, ultimately improving marketing outcomes and sales effectiveness.
  • Collect and analyze data from multiple sources to assess the effectiveness of business and marketing strategies. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data presented, empowering stakeholders with reliable insights for informed decision-making.
  • Manage the processing of advertising fund invoices and track marketing expenditures. Reconcile marketing accounts with the general ledger and provide ongoing analysis to ensure spending stays within budget and update forecasts, as necessary.
  • Assist in the setup, execution, and analysis of customer and market test surveys. Synthesize findings to provide actionable insights that influence future marketing strategies and improve customer engagement.
  • Pull, clean, and organize large datasets from various sources (e.g., Cognos database, loyalty program, customer experience platform) to ensure high-quality reporting. Implement automation processes that streamline reporting and improve the timeliness and accuracy of data analysis.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise reports that summarize key sales trends, highlight actionable insights, and provide strategic recommendations to enhance marketing strategies and operational effectiveness, playing a crucial role in shaping both short-term and long-term marketing efforts.
  • Support broader insights & analytics team on ad-hoc projects, providing data analysis and recommendations to address emerging business needs and support organizational priorities.

Education/Work Experience:

Bachelorโ€™s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in marketing analysis, data analytics, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex data in an easy-to-understand format.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with advanced statistical or data modeling techniques (e.g., regression analysis, predictive analytics) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL or other data querying languages is a plus.
  • Ability to work at the Support Center consistent with the hybrid work policy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment on matters of significance to the company.
  • Ability to work at the Support Center consistently as needed or directed by supervisor or company policy (which is currently a hybrid policy, subject to change).

The pay range identified is the hourly or salary rate El Pollo Loco expects to pay for the posted position. This range does not include any benefits or bonus opportunities that might be available for the position based on position and eligibility criteria.
