Responsibilities
- Ensures sales/billing groups work harmoniously, and that sales and billing processes are
- stream-lined and working efficiently.
- System support and business analysis: designs, develops, and provides ongoing support of the various business application systems for the department. This includes the materials
- management system (MMS), SAP-based sales and distribution, services management, and
- customer contact management systems.
- Performs an advisory role within the Measurement group, providing recommendations and
- assisting in the alignment of business processes and systems, including providing leadership to end-users and ensuring data integrity.
- Participates in internal and external software package evaluations to meet project requirements and makes recommendations on their applicability, viability and potential.
- Coordinates and develops reports as required for the Business Leader, Measurement Manager and internal auditors, including: job profitability reports, profit/loss statements, monthly financials (including O&M) and capital reports.
- Provides information to Operations Financial Analysts with respect to MMS financial
- transactions and business processes.
- Assists in the yearly O&M and capital budgeting process.
- Maintains a current knowledge of applicable accounting and financial systems, policies, coding and procedures. Advises the Measurement group regarding the application of accounting and financial procedures to aid in the understanding and effective use of financial reports and other activity related information.
- Responds to inquiries from internal auditors and finance regarding operations systems policies and procedures.
- Provides ongoing training and support to end users with respect to new developments and business processes, including:
- Coaching users in their effective and consistent use; and,
- Developing training materials required to perform training.Β Β Β

Maintains a working knowledge of gas measurement equipment and services and their application, operating costs and competitive advantages in order to provide information to customers, technologists, sales personnel, purchasing agents and others regarding Measurement products and service information.

Maintains the SAP-based sales and distribution (SD) and services management (SM) system for Measurement, involving the calculation and generation of quotations and contract invoices and tracking receipt of related payments.

Renews existing customer contracts, defining contract details and responding to issues.

Maintains a customer SAP-based contact management system (CMS) to record all customer profiles and sales related activities. Produces a variety of reports from available data for department staff and management to manage accounts and track activities. Reports are generated on a regular basis, with some customized reporting on an ad hoc basis.
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized post-secondary diploma in the Business Administration field that includes Marketing, Business Systems (software) Management, Finance, and Accounting components.
- Advanced knowledge of computer systems and business processes. Sound working
- knowledge of financial, work management, data base, accounting, spreadsheet, and specialized SAP software (MMS) used in the department.
- Solid understanding of business process design, system development, configuration and implementation concepts (necessary to support the MMS and business operations).
- Ability to anticipate problems, determine impacts and provide solutions.
- Ability to develop and maintain a working knowledge of gas measurement devices and their
- applications. Technical experience/knowledge of gas, water, and electric measurement principles.
- Demonstrated ability to gain the commitment of others and work effectively both independently and in a team oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify promotional opportunities and plan, organize, develop and execute sales and marketing programs.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to share knowledge and skills with others through training and/or presentations.
- Proven initiative to develop and maintain effective and productive working relationships with employees, sales personnel, customers and industry associates.
- Three (3) years directly related relevant experience, plus two (2) years general business/operating experience in a gas utility environment. Experience should include design, construction and assessment of questionnaires and customer evaluation and satisfaction reports.
- Demonstrated competency in keyboarding.
- Periodic travel out of the lower mainland is required.
- Valid British Columbia driver's license is required.Β Β Β
