Job Overview
The Payroll Analyst 2, Canada plays a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll within the Global PACE (Payroll, Automation, Customer Experience) organization. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners. The Payroll Analyst II will validate and audit payroll data, ensuring compliance with Canadian wage and hour laws, provincial and federal tax regulations, and company policies.
Success in this role requires independent thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage large volumes of data. Additionally, the Payroll Analyst II will provide support to the Staff Payroll Analyst and offer guidance to managers and directors on payroll-related actions, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the payroll input and review of the bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls in Canada.
- Ensure the accuracy of payroll inputs from third-party vendors, timekeeping systems, and HRIS platforms.
- Perform detailed analysis and validation of payroll results using reports and audits.
- Audit timekeeping system data before exporting it to the payroll system.
- Reconcile HRIS (Workday) files with the payroll system (ADP).
- Conduct payroll general ledger account reconciliations and collaborate with the Accounting team to resolve discrepancies.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify issues and recommend preventative solutions.
- Continuously assess payroll processes for improvement opportunities and support standardization initiatives.
- Develop and maintain clear and accurate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Communicate effectively with internal partners, vendors and leadership, providing exceptional customer support.
- Apply company policies to ensure correct payment of wages, overtime, bonuses, and benefit accruals.
- Maintain compliance with payroll regulations, tax legislation, and labor standards.

- PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) or CPM (Certified Payroll Manager) certification is a plus.
