Finance is a strategic partner that provides value-added financial planning, builds business partnerships, and supports strategic decision-making across the organization.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will have a strong background in cost management. The ideal candidate will analyze and optimize business operations, focusing on cost control, pricing strategy, and profitability. Ideally, you understand food service operations, supply chain processes, and cost management strategies well. The incumbent will be instrumental in shaping the overall business strategy for the business unit.
This role may be based at our Vancouver or Victoria office (with a possibility of traveling 3-5 days a month).
Responsibilities include:

Cost Analysis & Optimization: Analyze food service costs, including labour, materials, and overhead. Identify areas for cost reduction while maintaining quality and operational efficiency.

Cost Reporting: Develop and deliver regular cost performance reports for stakeholders, including detailed variance analysis and cost-saving opportunities.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing and monitoring departmental and company-wide budgets. Provide insights and recommendations based on cost trends and variance analysis.

Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in food service processes and recommend improvements to optimize resource allocation and reduce waste.

Data-driven decision-making: Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to operations, financial performance, and cost structures to inform strategic decision-making.

Collaboration & Support: Partner with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, supply chain, etc.) to drive cost-effective business solutions and enhance operational performance.

Operations advice: Challenge decisions to ensure that the business unit is making sound choices at the operational level. The incumbent should be able to provide financial guidance that supports growth and maximizes profitability while mitigating risk.
