Are you a data-driven problem solver who thrives on uncovering strategic insights to drive business impact? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our centralized analytics team within Amazon Advertising as a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer.

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building a world-class data and analytics system to support one of Amazon's fastest-growing and most profitable businesses. Sitting in our NYC or Seattle office, you will serve as the single-threaded owner (STO) of the organization's BI program, driving strategy, roadmap, and execution.


Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will partner closely with product managers, engineers, and scientists to understand business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver data-driven insights that inform key decisions and product innovations. You will build real-time reports, analytics, and dashboard visualizations that provide user-tailored views of advertising performance metrics, owning the design and implementation of these major deliverables end-to-end.

Leveraging your expertise in business intelligence analytics, reporting, and visualization tools (e.g., Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI), you will innovate and challenge the status quo to make it easy and efficient for advertisers to engage with our platform, and increase sales. You will collaborate with machine learning teams to develop sophisticated recommendation models and experimentation frameworks.

Ensuring data quality, reliability, and governance across the organization's data ecosystem is another key aspect of your responsibilities. You will mentor and coach junior BI team members, sharing your expertise and helping them grow their skills. Continuously staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, you will implement innovative solutions to enhance the team's data and analytics capabilities.


About the team
Our team is the centralized analytics and insights team for Amazon’s Demand Tech Experience. At the core of our capabilities is our proprietary analytics system that captures data, enabling us to uncover insights, identify friction points, and optimize the advertiser's experience. We own the analytics pipeline feeding internal dashboards that equip product teams and stakeholders with comprehensive performance visibility, while collaborating closely with ML teams to develop sophisticated recommendation models and experimentation frameworks. - 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving BI initiatives from ideation to implementatio

- Experience with AWS technologies
- Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field
- Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
- Familiarity with data engineering concepts, such as data pipelines, data quality, and performance optimization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
