Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The Project Kuiper North America Consumer team is looking for a talented individual to lead data science and analytics that will support key decisions for consumer business development. This role is responsible for analyzing large sets of data and building pipeline for automated dashboards and reporting. A successful candidate will be independent, comfortable with ambiguity, and adept at dealing with large volumes of data including geo-spatial data. We are looking for someone who has built end-to-end analytical workflows, has experience in data visualization, and is obsessed with driving insights on statistically sound data.
Key job responsibilities
- Analyze large data sets to identify patterns, understand drivers, and generate insights for demand, retention, service plan mix, and seasonality models
- Write queries to extract data and insights combining datasets within Kuiper with publicly available datasets
- Design, build, and maintain automated reporting, dashboards, and recurrent analysis in support of data driven decisions across business operations
- Identify opportunities for automation to accelerate insight generation
- Analyze and create visualization of large geo-spatial data to drive subscriber growth strategies
- Leverage Amazon systems and tools to effectively work with, process, and analyze large datasets
- Deliver comprehensive, written strategy documents considering different types of data and inputs across a broad range of stakeholders
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- 5+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building data pipelines
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
