Gigafest is hiring a Senior Data Analyst. Location: Toronto, Ontario (141 Bay, 15th Floor) Work arrangement: Hybrid, 2 days a week onsite (Monday mandatory) Contract length: 12 months Expected start date: ASAP (September 1, 2026) About the Opportunity: Gigafest is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join CIBC's Fusion Data & Analytics team. You'll support mission-critical incident response and threat detection initiatives that safeguard clients, employees, and assets from financial crime. This is a high-impact role where your data expertise directly protects the organization against emerging threats and sophisticated financial crime. Reporting to the Director of Fusion Data & Analytics, you'll collaborate with teams across the bank to analyze data that drives swift incident response and develop detection logic using cross-domain datasets. Key Responsibilities: • Provide rapid analytics support for incident response enabling swift action against emerging threats • Support data needs during active incidents—partner with Fusion Response teams to deliver critical data for effective response • Develop threat detection logic and alerts using cross-domain data to identify and mitigate financial crime scenarios • Analyze data to uncover emerging behaviors and patterns of threat actors within complex datasets • Work closely with business partners to understand detection targets, behaviors, and alert requirements • Coach and mentor junior data analysts on CIBC data handling and analytics best practices • Automate manual processes and support continuous improvement initiatives with programming expertise • Collaborate with various Lines of Business partners across the organization Must Haves: • 5+ years of professional experience in data and analytics • Strong background in financial crime detection, fraud prevention, AML, or incident response • Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation • Strong scripting skills using Python and/or Spark for data cleaning and transformation • Demonstrated knowledge of data handling and manipulation best practices • Team player mentality with strong cross-departmental collaboration skills • Meticulous attention to detail with commitment to data accuracy and reliability • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with flexible core hours Nice to Have: • Previous CIBC experience or background at other financial institutions • Experience with Neo4j or other graph database technologies • Cybersecurity or threat intelligence background • Exposure to financial crime detection methodologies • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance frameworks Rate: Competitive (DOE)
