We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst focused on analytical and actuarial data to join our Advanced Analytics team. This key technical position reports to the Data Science Manager and plays a key role in growing and transforming our data usage landscape. They will lead the efforts to contextualize and provide easy access to data for different functions within the Actuarial department. They will enhance operational efficiency through leveraging tools and technology to automate data capture and improve analytical capabilities. They will be key liaison between the IT data warehouse function and the primary data users in Actuarial.
This is a remote position working under EST business hours.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000

What you will do:
Design, develop and maintain analytical datasets to be used by the Actuarial department in support of data analytics, predictive modeling, business intelligence, pricing and product, and other functions including Underwriting, Claims, and Marketing.
Maintain and enhance data cubes or similar solutions that consolidate data to be organized and modeled for fast and efficient analysis.
Build and operationalize complex data solutions, correct problems, apply transformations, and recommend data cleansing/quality solutions.
Explore new data sources and analytical techniques to ensure competitive advantage.
Incorporate core data management competencies including data governance, data security and data quality.
Perform data and system analysis, assessment, and resolution for complex defects and incidents, and correct as appropriate.
Share technical expertise with the data science and actuarial community through discussions, presentations, or peer reviews.
Convey complex technical projects to non-technical audiences with appropriate detail and urgency.Β
What you will bring:
Bachelorβs degree or equivalent training with data tools, techniques, and manipulation (required).
6+ years of experience in a data role working with SQL or ELT, processing large volume of data.
3+ years of direct experience developing analytical databases, data cubes or data marts, for a personal lines P&C insurance carrier, preferably in the Homeowners line of business.
The capability to produce work at a consistent and reliable pace to fulfill commitments, provide comprehensive solutions while releasing them incrementally, and recognize and negotiate critical tradeoffs.
Motivated self-starter who can proactively and independently move projects along.
Keen to learn and attention to detail.
Effectiveness in verbal, written, and presentation communication.
Strong team collaboration skills and cross-functional capabilities.
