Based out of the Richmond Hill Office, and reporting to the National Manager, Accounting and Internal Control, Mazda Canada is seeking a detailâoriented and proactive Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This role supports core accounting functions, treasury operations, audit coordination, and crossâfunctional business initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
- Support monthâend close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Analyze monthly results and provide variance insights to leadership.
- Manage sales incentive and residual value accounting.
- Prepare consolidation packages and assist with annual financial statements.
- Support daily cash flow modeling, banking reviews, and cash reporting.
- Lead customs-related matters, including inquiries, compliance requirements, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to finance transformation, process improvements, and crossâfunctional projects.
- Support new business initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
- Coordinate internal/external audits and manage compliance programs (Customs, Sales Tax, etc.).
- Act as the main contact for auditors and ensure timely documentation.
Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge & Skills Required):
- Post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance or accounting; automotive industry experience is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles and financial processes.
- Knowledgeable with Canadian Customs Regulations, Sales Tax, Excise Tax and environmental programs.
- Experience coordinating with internal and external auditors.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze issues and resolve problems independently.
