Chief Operating and Financial Officer
Principle Duties:
- Lead our annual budgeting process; develop and maintain rolling forecasts. Leverage our resources and work with departments to make these as accurate as possible.
- Analyze our monthly, quarterly, and annual performance to the budget weβve built. Equip our department heads with the data they need to address variances. Youβll identify both the dollar variance and also the underlying business reason for it, acting as a trusted advisor to influence the business leaders to act upon your recommendations.
- Build and maintain a deep understanding of our business model, operations, and historical financial performance. Use that information to provide forward-looking projections and relevant recommendations so that we can best accomplish our goals.
- Have a great command of whatβs needed to build and generate ad hoc reports from multiple non-interfacing systems. Self-serve everywhere you can. Use this knowledge to identify trends, variances, and key metrics and analyze items such as sales data, cost of goods sold, and operating expenses. Perform product profitability analysis and other ad hoc analysis to help inform our strategies.
- Work closely with department heads to equip them with the relevant financial information they need to lead their departments and accomplish their financial goals
- Be a tremendous partner to our Accounting Team. Build and maintain a great relationship there so you can work seamlessly to serve each otherβs functions really well
- Calculate ROI on equipment purchases and track actual performance against ROI estimates
- Assist in critical business calculations such as valuation, cash flow projections, and shareholder distributions
Required Skills, Knowledge, Education, and Training:
- Bachelorβs degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
- 5 + years of experience in the financial part of a business
- Understanding of and ability to create detailed financial forecasts
- Experience in manufacturing is strongly preferred
- Computer proficiency with strong spreadsheet skills; ERP system familiarity is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and collaborate effectively among all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to make informed decisions
- Desire to learn and overcome new challenges inherent with a growing company.
- Ability to sit or stand at a computer for long periods of time.
