The primary objective of the Sr. Financial Analyst is to deliver accurate and timely analysis and reporting of physical inventory results across Stores and Distribution Centers. This role sits within the Finance Inventory Control team and partners closely with Field, DC, Merchandising, and Corporate Shortage Control/Asset Protection teams. Responsibilities include analyzing inventory results, as well as reporting on related areas such as mark-out-of-stock and markdowns.
This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical, process management, quantitative, and technical skills. The role is responsible for generating insights that help identify trends and drivers of merchandise shortage, ultimately supporting process and operational improvements.
In partnership with Inventory Control leadership, this role will work closely with the Shortage Control team to analyze results following each inventory cycle, identify root causes, and recommend actionable improvements. The Sr. Financial Analyst will also help present findings and insights to cross-functional senior leadership and support forecasting future shortage trends based on data and current initiatives.
A Day in the Life
- Responsible for clear and accurate presentation of results and recommendations to management following each inventory, including key metrics, changes in performance and key findings
- Coordinate Physical Inventory Reconciliations and analysis in addition to coordinating timing, execution and reporting of physical inventory
- Provide shrink reporting and analytics to Executive team and business partners
- Develop and maintain partner relationships with business units and corporate stakeholders (IT, Shortage Control, Asset Protection, Merchandising, Finance, DC, Logistics, etc.)
- Seek out process efficiencies and improvements
- Create Value-added reporting including KPI’s and Monthly Reporting Metrics
- Propose new ideas and opportunities for reducing shortage based on performance trends and industry developments. Stay up to date on industry trends in shortage.
- Demonstrate a good understanding and knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls and apply them to daily functions
