Job Description

Reporting to FP&A Director, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for processing and analyzing of financial data, driving financial performance and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.  

The successful candidate will bring critical thinking, a strong attention to detail and a desire to “dig in” to learn the business while being mindful of the strong culture and commitment of the Company to provide the best care possible for our patients. 

This position will be based at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario. Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Support the annual budgeting process, including preparation, monthly forecasting, and budget-to-actual variance analysis with clear explanations in collaboration with operations

Prepare and deliver management reporting packages, including standard and recurring reports, KPIs, and insightful commentary for strategic analysis

Partner with Finance Business Partners and operational teams to generate insights, interpret financial results, and support data-driven decision-making (e.g., staffing, capex, operational initiatives)

Build and maintain strong relationships with business unit leaders, including district directors, operation and clinical leadership

Ensure compliance with Extendicare’s accounting systems and procedures, and support resolution of field-related financial issues

Drive process improvements and efficiencies leveraging financial and business expertise
